Blues
S.C. Sweden or the Sweden Blues as we prefer to call it is
a part of a big family of Blues Clubs. It all began way back
in 1979 with Edinburgh Blues.
The Edinburgh branch was the one and only until the beginning
of the nineties when some members moved south and established
a branch in North Wales. The contact wasn't very tight as
I understand it and it wasn't until 1999 when the Manchester
branch was formed that the club decided to develop a net of
different Blues branches and clubs in UK and Europe. The idea
is to get to know people with the same attitude towards the
scene, help each other out and by so doing improve the scene
both nationally and internationally. At the moment there are
branches throughout UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Ireland,
Italy and Sweden.
Sweden Blues was established in February 2006 when Willie,
Davie and Lynn from Edinburgh Blues decided to come over and
check us out. They arrived to a wintry Gothenburg and were
taken care of as our own. Strange how people from a different
country arrive to a new group of people and it feels like
they've been your friends all your life. This in combination
with beer, Jägermeister and good music proved to be a good
concept and we were accepted as one of the Blues family. Sweden
Blues is a rally going scooter club just as all the other
branches. Membership is all about friendship and family, nothing
about what brand you drive or where you live. We look forward
to seeing you all at the rallies in Scandinavia and throughout
Europe. |
